WEICON UW
Weicon Plastic Metal UW is a special grade of epoxy repair compound that will harden and cure on damp or wet surfaces and even under water. This makes this steel-filled epoxy paste an outstanding option for repairs to underwater piping, components or systems.
Weicon Plastic Metal UW is manufactured from mineral filled epoxy resin and can be applied in layers up to 12 mm thick. In around 4 hours will cure to the point where it can handle mechanical loads while full cure will take about 24 hours.
Because of its ability to bond, cure and perform in wet or damp environments, this grade is often used in the marine and irrigation sectors.

Weicon Plastic Metal UW include:
- Repairs to underwater or partially submerged pipes
- Fixes to submerged pumps and equipment
- Repairs to damn wall, ship exteriors
- All applications where other compounds can’t be used due to moisture or wetness
Once completely cured, Weicon Plastic Metal UW will be white in colour and set hard. Tests conducted in accordance with DIN 53281-83 requirements found that fully cured Plastic Metal UW had a hardness of 70 Shore D, a compressive strength of 60 MPa and a mean tensile strength of 30 MPa.
