Nickel, whether in its elemental form or alloyed with other metals and minerals, has made enormous contributions to our modern civilization and will continue to furnish resources for an even more demanding future. Nickel and copper are completely soluble in solids. Many alloy combinations are conceivable due to the wide solubility ranges of iron, chromium, and nickel. Its great adaptability, along with its exceptional heat and corrosion resistance, has led to its employment in a wide range of applications.
