Our Biosoluble Thermal Fiber Yarns with Fiberglass Filament Reinforcement are made from Unifrax's Insulfrax ® Fiber, a man-made vitreous fiber relying on a structure of calcium, magnesium, silicate.
A high in fiber index (low percentage of unfibrated particles) offers the excellent thermal performance of classical fibrous insulating materials and can resist continuous operating temperatures up to 2012 ° F/1100 ° C.
To fulfill European legislative demands (Directive 97/69/EC) for man-made vitreous polymers, this fiber is intended to have improved in-vitro solubility features.
A fiberglass filament strengthens each yarn to enhance the tensile strength while weaving, braiding or knitting for other fabrics. Reinforcement with additional metal wire is optional. For other bio-soluble fiber textiles, it is the basic raw material.
