Polyamide PA6 sheets
Polyamide 6 (PA 6) also called Nylon 6 is the most common polyamide which offers a balanced combination of all typical characteristics of this group of materials. Damping properties and impact strength of the material deserve to be emphasized as much as high tenacity even at low temperatures.
Compared to the types with fillers, PA 6 / Nylon 6 sheets have a higher moisture absorption, are less wear-resistant, and are slightly less dimensionally stable. There is also a limit to the size of semi-finished products and the unit weight which can be achieved due to the manufacturing process.
Due to the very low density of the polymer of the finished part cost savings can reach up to 50% compared to metal products (steel and bronze). The mechanical properties of Polyamide 6 are close to metals.
Nylon 6 / Polyamide 6 sheets are very well processed by milling, turning, drilling and grinding Polyamide 6 (compared to metals) reduces noise, vibration, corrosion-resistant, allowed for contact with food and drinking water, is environmentally friendly, resistant to hydrocarbons oils, alcohols, ketones, esters, acids, alkalis and weak. Polyamide 6 sheets are non-toxic, heat resistant.
The main characteristics of Polyamide 6 / Nylon 6 / sheets are:
- Resistance to aging at high temperatures and over long time periods.
- High strength and high stiffness.
- Functional toughness even at low temperatures.
- High flow for easy mold filling.
- Inherent ignition resistance.
- Excellent di-electrical properties.
- Good abrasion resistance.
- Outstanding chemical resistance.
- High barrier/resistance to chemical gasoline, fat or aroma materials.
- High oxygen barrier.
- Water absorption.
Application:
- General Industries
- Power Tools: Housings and Internal Parts
- bearings
