Flexible Roll Molded Friction lining FTL132 - 0.38µ - 0.35µ

FTL132 is a non-asbestos, semi-flexible friction lining material from the FTL range. It is offered in a roll form and is suitable for applications including dry operating conditions only (i.e. it is not suitable for use in oil), made of substances not containing asbestos.

Flexible Roll Molded Friction lining can be manufactured with brass, zinc, steel or copper wire. It's availble in flat sheet form and suitable for gear tooth applications. Non metallic cotton fibre material available for food industry type applications

It is a lightweight, semi-rigid, moulded friction lining product, and is manufactured in random dispersion from a variety of mineral fibers and other non-metallic substances.

As with other friction lining materials from this range, FTL132 is enough flexible and it's possible to fit it to any curved metal parts with a relatively simple installation. After the heat is generated in service the roll molded friction lining will increase its strength and stiffness. Alternatively, FTL132 can be heat treated in an oven at a temperature of between 200 & 230°C for a period of not less than 60 minutes, either before or after fitting.

This roll molded flexible friction lining has a Static Friction Coefficient of µ=0.32 and a Dynamic Friction Coefficient of µ=0.35.

Compared with FTL123, FTL132 Roll Molded Friction lining has a slightly lower friction coefficient but has been designed to maintain excellent friction stability and wear resistance properties.

During manufacturing this material is ground on both sides and thus ideal for bonding on either side.

When supplied, FTL132 Roll Molded Friction lining is enough  flexible to be fitted to curved metal parts with a simple operation, after which the generated heat while working will increase its strength and stiffness.

Otherwise, Flexible Roll Molded Friction lining FTL132 can be heat treated in an oven at a temperature of between 200 & 230 C for a period of not less than 60 minutes, either before or after fitting.

Flexible Roll Molded Friction lining FTL132 is not suitable for use with oil.
