PTFE graphite filled rods

EXTRUDED PTFE TEFLON GRAPHITE ROD has good thermal conductivity, is Chemically inert, Low friction. Minimum wear to mating surface. Graphite has good chemical resistance to corrosive environments and exhibits good initial wear and rubbing/sliding characteristics in dry and water applications. Commonly blended with carbon and PTFE.

The Filled Grade PTFE TEFLON products are widely used as machining stock for all kinds of chemical, electrical and mechanical components where the outstanding performance characteristics of PTFE are required.

Graphite-filled PTFE has exceptional chemical resistance and is compatible with most hydraulic fluids. Outstanding performance when used for hydraulic/pneumatic compression type rod and piston seals, bearing bands and rotary applications.

Advantages of Graphite-Filled PTFE:

  • Low coefficient of friction compared to other filled PTFE materials.
  • Higher flexural modulus and surface hardness than unmodified PTFE.

Disadvantages of Graphite-Filled PTFE:
  • Lower notched impact strength, tensile strength, elongation at break and electrical characteristics compared with unmodified PTFE.
  • Tendency of graphite to leach out.
