Expanded PTFE Gaskets

This type of gaskets are made of expanded PTFE gasket material, designed for use in process piping and equipment in chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and other general industrial applications where resistance to highly aggressive chemicals is required. The EPTFE gasket can handle temperature of about 240°C.

Expanded PTFE gaskets are ideal for use in steel flanges and flanges with irregular surfaces. The expanded PTFE gaskets conform to  the FDA requirements.

The expanded PTFE gaskets has the same chemical resistance as the normal PTFE gaskets, but has better flexibility and elasticity. The expanded PTFE gaskets we cut is made only from pure PTFE resins. It is suitable for use in steel flanges as well as flanges where a highly compressible gasket is required. EPTFE gasket is also suitable for sealing flanges with irregular surfaces.
Expanded PTFE sheet material and the gaskets made of it will not exhibit the cold flow problems associated with virgin PTFE or the hardness problems of some other filled PTFE products. The gaskets from expanded PTFE have excellent sealability, cuts easily, and separate cleanly from flanges after use.

Expanded PTFE gaskets

Expanded PTFE gaskets Expanded PTFE, Unfilled Teflon® Gaskets (Virgin Teflon® Gaskets) Expanded PTFE (Teflon®) gasket material is produced by expanding Virgin PTFE using a process that creates a uniform and highly fibrillated microstructure with equal tensile strength in all directions. This means that expanded Teflon® possesses no structural weakness or a "grain". Since no additives are required, expanded Teflon® also possesses the unique che..

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the key advantages of using Expanded PTFE gaskets in industrial applications?

Expanded PTFE gaskets offer several advantages, including excellent chemical resistance, high-temperature stability up to 240°C, and the ability to conform to uneven flange surfaces. This makes them particularly suitable for use in industries such as chemical processing, food and beverage, and pulp and paper, where they can effectively seal against aggressive chemicals and maintain integrity under varying conditions.

How do Expanded PTFE gaskets perform compared to traditional gasket materials?

When compared to traditional gasket materials, Expanded PTFE gaskets provide superior resistance to chemical attack and are less prone to leakage. Their unique structure allows them to adapt to irregular flange surfaces, ensuring a tight seal. Additionally, they meet FDA requirements, making them suitable for food and beverage applications where safety and compliance are critical.

In what scenarios should I consider using Expanded PTFE gaskets over other gasket types?

You should consider using Expanded PTFE gaskets in scenarios involving high temperatures, exposure to aggressive chemicals, or when sealing uneven flange surfaces. Their versatility and reliability in critical applications make them an excellent choice. For more information on our products, visit Expanded PTFE gaskets.
