PMMA / Plexiglass sheets - 30% clear

Plexiglass sheets, compared to other materials for example to polycarbonate are not as robust to shock loads and have a significantly lower thermal resistance, but the Plexiglas / PMMA (plates) are cheaper compared to solid polycarbonate. In comparison with silicate glass, Plexiglass sheets are 2.5 times lighter and have 5 times higher impact resistance. PMMA sheets have ability to transmit light and UV radiation above, it is superior in transparency, not only compared to the ordinary glass, but also to all other transparent plastics.

UV-Stability
Because it is inherently stable to UV-light, PMMA sheets are used for many outdoor applications, in which it maintains its original colour and finishes for many years. Plexiglass sheets may skip 70% of UV radiation while the radiation is not permeable for the normal glass.

Surface Hardness
PMMA sheets also offer great scratch resistance and are able to be machined to a very high gloss finish. These properties, combined with PMMA’s dimensional stability, enables its use in many different applications where lasting beautiful appearances are important, such as on furniture or kitchen or bath walls or cabinet facades.

Unique Properties for Specific Performance
PMMA can be further modified by including different additives. These are typically used to improve specific properties of the polymer, usually targeted toward specific applications. Examples of properties that can be adjusted in this way are impact resistance, chemical resistance, flame retardancy, light diffusion, UV light filtering, or optical effects.
