Viton or FKM X-rings offer more strength than any of the other elastomers to a wider spectrum of chemicals coupled with very good high temperature characteristics.

Hot water, steam, polar solvents, small molecular weight esters and ethers, glycol-based brake liquids, or warm hydrofluoric or chlorosulfonic acids are usually not recommended for use with FKM X-rings. They are are not consistent with organic acids and brake liquids especially when their molecular weight is low.
