Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve

A single offset butterfly valve will have the shaft placed behind the centerline of the sealing area. In addition on a single eccentric butterfly valve, the shaft is placed centered to the valve centerline.

In a single-offset butterfly valve, the stem is located behind the disc. There are few, if any, valves of this type left on the market today due to the development of the double-offset, or high-performance, valve.

The single-offset of the stem causes the disc to contact the seat with three to four degrees left to travel with the idea that less seat contact will enable the valve to last longer.

Application   Single-eccentric butterfly valves are industrial valves, which are designed to fully open or close a passage of the working medium flowing through a pipeline. They can also be used for flow-control purposes. However, a 100% tightness of the valve cannot be guaranteed in a long-term use for control purposes.  TDS Working medium     waste and service water   drinking water   hot water   steam   non-aggressive liquids and gases  ..

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the key advantages of using a Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve?

The Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve offers several advantages, including reduced seat wear due to minimal contact between the disc and the seat, and a more compact design that allows for easier installation in tight spaces. The offset design also contributes to improved flow characteristics and reduced turbulence, making it suitable for various applications.

How does the design of the Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve affect its performance?

The design of the Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve, with the shaft positioned behind the centerline of the sealing area, allows the disc to pivot smoothly, resulting in efficient sealing and reduced torque requirements. This design minimizes friction and enhances the valve's longevity while providing reliable performance under varying pressure conditions.

In what applications is the Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valve typically used?

Single-Eccentric Butterfly Valves are commonly used in applications involving water treatment, HVAC systems, and pulp and paper industries. Their ability to provide reliable flow control and resistance to wear makes them a suitable choice for both low and moderate-pressure systems.
