Ramie/Cotton packings
The braided ramie or cotton packings are produced from cotton or ramie threads, impregnated with treated grease in order to avoid the loss of properties. This is a braid packing, consisting of pure twisted cotton yarn, impregnated yarn-by-yarn with special greases and lubricants. The ramie/cotton is a lowcost packing mainly used in the shipping industry and up to 100-120 C.
Cotton packings are used with pumps for stagnant water; valves for high temperatures and pressures; steam; air; water; oil; suitable for shipping and the petrochemical industry. The cotton greased packings are a type of economical universal packing, suitable for rotating and reciprocating pumps, agitators etc with water, sea-water, alcohol, etc.
Ramie braided packings are made of an extremely strong and water resistant natural fibre. The ramie packing also contains a high level of grease due to a comprehensive impregnation process. This ensures a high density and low friction performance.
